Credit cards offer a lot of different options, but if you are not prepared for the hidden aspects of credit cards you may pick the wrong card. In this article we are going to look at rewards credit cards as there are several options in the UK to choose from. Football and Rugby Cards These are two of the rewards cards you can have in the UK. These cards allow you to support your favourite team. For example you have the Celtic cards. These cards will offer you rewards for supporting the team. You see when you have one of these credit cards MBNA, the issuer, will offer a contribution to the team based on the purchase you make. You aren’t even paying a dime to support the team. However, you are reaping the benefits. With football or rugby cards you are able to get discount tickets, merchandise savings, and if you earn enough points such things as lunch with a team player. It takes a bit to earn these rewards though as it is not simply a point per pound. Flight Miles Flight miles credit cards offer you a chance to earn free flights with purchases. There are going to be different offerings depending on the card that you choose. For example if you choose an American Express card like the Blue Sky card you will earn a little more than a point per pound on any purchase. You get even more points if you spend on the credit card for a flight. Other cards will allow you to earn two free flights by spending more than 5,000 pounds on a credit card in a year. The trick with the flight miles cards is choosing one in which you get to accrue points at a fast rate, have roll over miles, and introductory point rewards. Some cards state you must use the miles in one year and if you don’t they are lost; however when you compare cards you will find there are others that let you accrue points until you can use them. If you don’t fly a lot or will not use the card other than for emergency purchases there may be other rewards cards for you. Travel Cards are a little different than the flight miles cards that we spoke about above. Travel cards allow for more rewards. Instead of just earning flights you can earn discounts on gas, merchandise, rental cars, hotels, and anything else that you may require for travelling. These cards work to help you get further points on regular purchases as well. Most cards allow for 1 point per pound spent and then 1.5 points spent on travel related items. It is good to compare the cards so you know which one will work best for you. These are just three of the rewards cards you can obtain in the UK. It is up to you to find out which cards will offer the best rewards for your needs.
